New iOS function to thwart impersonation assaults – Week in safety with Tony Anscombe

Your iPhone has simply acquired a brand new function known as iMessage Contact Key Verification that’s designed to assist shield your messages from prying eyes

Apple has shipped iOS 17.2 to all customers and it features a new function that’s supposed to guard customers from attackers who might be misusing the corporate’s iMessage server infrastructure. Referred to as iMessage Contact Key Verification, the function “robotically verifies that you just’re messaging with the individual that you propose”, thus defending individuals from attackers intent on studying or listening in on different individuals’s conversations.
